The Sonoran Desert, known as the lushest desert on earth, covers approximately 200,000 square miles. Although it includes most of Southern Arizona, over 75% lies south of the border. Did you ever want to explore and get a closer look at its diverse & varied range of flora and fauna? If so, it's really easy. All you have to do is visit the ARIZONA-SONORA DESERT MUSEUM in Tucson adjacent to the Saguaro National Park. Don't let "museum" deter you, it really is an outdoor microcosm of the Sonoran Desert with two miles of walking paths located on 21 acres of desert landscape. Whether you are a first time visitor or an habitué; it's a great place to visit. Check out their website at . You might want to consider taking a "Behind-the-Scenes" tour such as the "Zookeeper for a Day" which is offered every other Saturday.
